185 MODELS OF DIVERSITY: “The Future of Fashion”

The world of modeling has been limited to the ‘skinny white girl’ trope–until now. Gemma Flanagan and Chelsea Jay Reynolds come to BOLD as outspoken leaders for Models of Diversity, a campaign that demands diversity in the beauty, fashion and media industries.

Both have triumphed over adversity. Gemma states: “People patted me on the head and said ‘You’re too pretty to be disabled.’” Chelsea goes even further: “Yes, I’m in a wheelchair but I don’t sit around crying and listening to Adele all day. It’s our time to be represented!”

Models of Diversity is heading up several global efforts for change, including a UK petition to regulate more visibility for disabled models. Find out more at www.modelsofdiversity.org.

“Shift happens right where you are,” says LeGrande. “Be the change and get BOLD today.” Meet today’s most inspirational leaders at www.getboldtoday.com.
